ELSA Malta and SACES have another water fight to remember, for better or worse

This article was meant to be a pictorial, but after the media fanfare and pseudo-public outcry of yesterday, a touch of clarification is in order. First of all, a big congratulations goes to SACES and ELSA Malta for once again making Friday at Freshers’ Week memorable, not because of a livefeed being shared freely by national media houses, but because of the spirit of fun, life, competition, and energy that being young University students should encompass.

It is regrettable that tabloid headlines and selective posting tarnishes an annual tradition and a live video showing almost 17 minutes out of a roughly 45 minute endeavour was even further targeted with “skip to 10:00 for the juicy bits” taglines. No, do not skip to the juicy bits just for the sake of feeling shocked at students being what every ex-student fondly remembers being.

The following photos show what happened during the water fight, but focus less on a minor competitive altercation which was swiftly dealt with, and more on the bigger picture. This is the reason this tradition goes on and is looked forward to by not only ELSA Malta and SACES, but the majority of the student body.
