48 hours later and still no reply. On behalf of the student representatives, Owen Grech had sent an email to the Board of Discipline two days ago regarding the mishandling of the KE elections.“It is quite ironic from the KSU’s Board of Discipline that it took them only an hour to take a decision to postpone an election” said Grech. This was due to the issue of 9 proxies not being accepted by Jean Claude Scicluna. Not even 24 hours after, the Board of Discipline had taken the decision to restart the KE election from scratch, even though Scicluna did not agree with this.
Also, there are two candidates who are still waiting for an answer on what will happen next for this election to take place.
With this decision taken and no answer from the Board of Discipline or KSU, both the candidates and the student representatives are left in the dark. As per Grech, “This can only mean that either the board is self-admitting that their actions went against the statute and can’t find statuary support for both their decisions, or worse, have some sort of hidden agenda.”
