MMSA elect a new Board of Directors


The Malta Medical Students’ Associaton has elected a new Board of Directors for the organisation’s upcoming term. The newly elected President, Omar Chircop told Insite Malta “To say I’m excited would be an understatement. I’m honoured to have been given the chance to lead the MMSA forward. I want MMSA to be filled with new people, new ideas and most importantly new ways to help our students flourish both academically and professionally.”

The elected new board of Directors are as follows:

  • President: Omar Chircop
  • Vice President for Internal Affairs: Jake Scicluna
  • Secretary-General: Glenn Briffa
  • Treasurer: Courtney Jaggers
  • Public Relations Officer: Jade Borg
  • Exchanges-in Officer: Mattea Gouder
  • Exchanges-out Officer: Rebecca Bugeja
  • Public Health Officer: Jessica Bonnici
  • Medical Education Officer: Gloria Montebello
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health Officer: Andy Coleiro
  • Peer Education and Training Officer: Kristina Pulis
  • Human Rights and Peace Officer: Laura Demicoli
  • Leisure Officer: Alessia Vella
  • Supervising Council without BD experience: Amy Ebejer

Chircop added that he looks forward to start working with his team so as to turn their plans into reality and take MMSA even further. “I’m really proud of the elected team who I know will work hard and hand in hand with the whole board.” stated MMSA’s new President, while he congratulated all the candidates for the work they put into this election as well as the electoral commission.

Chircop, the elected president, has also been elected as a student representative on the University of Malta council earlier on this year.
