Studenti Demokristjani Maltin, SDM, launched a new philanthropic campaign ‘HOPE’ aimed at further supporting Bjorn Formosa’s and ALS Malta’s work, which will soon come to fruition; ‘Dar Bjorn”.
SDM students across various campuses in Malta; such as Junior College, MCAST, ITS and the University of Malta will be collecting donations over the next few days. The climax of the campaign will be reached on the television programme Xarabank on Friday 19th, wherein SDM will be among those raising funds for the cause. SDM President Neil Smart Costantino told Insite that anyone can apply to help by contacting the organisation directly on their Facebook page or by filling in the forms they will be distributing.
This student organisation emphasised that this campaign is not just about raising funds. It also aims to raise awareness. SDM intends to utilize social media to spread hope and courage to individuals who are going through tough times.
Over the past few years, SDM organised campaigns such as Rise, Draw the Line, Leave your Mark and Project 7000. Thanks to Project 7000, SDM raised over 35,000€ for Organisations such as the Malta Community Chest Fund, Puttinu Cares, Inspire, Caritas, SPCA, Friends of the Earth, Dar tal-Providenza and LifeCycle Malta. SDM said that this year’s campaign, Hope, will continue building on this.
