A group of Maltese citizens held a demonstration earlier today, asking to remove the Attorney General and the Police Commissioner from their responsibilities, in the wish of having a law to protect the Maltese and a police force that is worthy and reliable. They are asking for accountability, rule of law, stability and the safe-guarding of democracy at the place they call home.
These citizens also want to separate the above mentioned national institutions, so that they maintain balance and watch over each other’s shoulder, as this is vital for democracy. Therefore, they are also asking the government to take the lead and reaffirm the trust that the public has given him by removing the Attorney General and the Police Commissioner from their roles. This is because, according to these citizens, the aforementioned persons have not fulfilled their responsibilities and failed to satisfy what was expected of them.
