SDM launches Project 7000 for the 5th consecutive year

SDM has, for the 5th consecutive year, launched project 7,000, a project which aims towards raising €7,000 solely by selling wrist bands at the price of €2, in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund. This month this student organisation will be setting up events in aid of this campaign.

Over the previous 4 editions SDM has collected a total of €28,000. This year’s edition will mean that the organisation will have, in total, raised €35,000 for the Malta Community Chest Fund.

The President of Malta, Marie Louise-Coleiro Preca, last week posted photos with members of SDM on social media. She thanked the members of this organisation for once again organising “Project 7000” in all the institutions they are established in, and for taking the initiative to help those in need.

Project 7000 originated in 2013 from a simple idea of students who recognised the power social media has to raise funds. This idea was developed and implemented by SDM years ago with then President George Abela. Following the success they had, they have made this project an annual one.
