(Can't) Touch This

As part of the sexual harassment campaign conducted by Insite’s Social Policy Subcommittee, some members took to the streets of Malta to conduct a social experiment. The aim - whether or not people would step in to help someone who was being harassed.

Sexual harassment is a serious problem, as it demeans the person being harassed for the pleasure of the abuser. Unfortunately, catcalling or persistence are not seen as actions which could be considered as sexual harassment by the general public, even though the person being catcalled, or the person who has to continuously move away from a stranger, is feeling uncomfortable or unsafe.
